Water filtration plant close due to nonpayment of bill

Residents of Sector I-9/1 facing acute water shortage as only water filtration plant in the area is lying closed due to non-payment of electricity bills by the authorities, sources said.

Capital Development Authority initiated a good step by constructing filtration plant for providing clean  drinking water to the citizen of Islamabad, but due to some problem they handed over them to some private firms. In Sector I-9 filtration plants are facing lots of problems like faults in motors, non-availability of electricity and theft of taps.

Three days have passed and the plant near Shakeel Market is closed, reportedly due to non-payment of electricity bill. When residents of the area tried to approach the caretaker who lives inside the plant he was found absent.  Residents are facing problem as this plant is covering a sector.
